H.D. JOHNSON DIES SUDDENLY

WIDELY KNOWN FARMER IS STRICKEN FRIDAY

H.D. Johnson, aged 72 years, widely known farmer residing on the Greenfield road a few miles south of this city, died suddenly of heart failure at the noon hour, Friday, and was found a short time later by Mrs. Johnson who had gone to the barn to ascertain why he had not come to his noonday meal.

Mr. Johnson had been in his usual health, apparently, during Friday morning, and was engaged at work with his team and a farm wagon. Apparently he had been stricken while caring for the horses, and had expired in a few moments.

Virtually all of his life had been spent in the community in which he died, and he had been engaged in farming and stock raising. He had a wide circle of friends, both in his home community and in the county generally.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his widow, one son, Earl Johnson, of near Rock Mills, and one daughter, Mrs. John Weade, residing on the Creek road.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed Friday afternoon.
